Jeep Grand Cherokee Key Replacement — Mobile Service, Highlands Ranch & Denver Metro

5.0★ / 38 Google Reviews 7 AM – Midnight, 7 days Bonded & Insured

Lost the only Jeep Grand Cherokee key, snapped the blade in the door, or need an extra SKIM/SKREEM-programmed fob? Our mobile automotive locksmiths cut and program Grand Cherokee keys on-site across Highlands Ranch, Lone Tree, Centennial, Castle Rock, Parker, Littleton, and the Denver south-metro — typically in 30–60 minutes from arrival, at roughly half the price of the Jeep dealership.

Every Grand Cherokee Generation We Handle

The Grand Cherokee has used four very different key platforms across its 1999–2026 run. We carry blanks, transponder shells, FCC-IDs, and the diagnostic tools for all of them — so we don't have to tow your SUV to the dealer for a key.

  • WJ (1999–2004) — Y157 / Y159 metal blade with PCF7935 chip (SKIM 1). Separate fob for keyless entry.
  • WK (2005–2010) — CY24 blade with integrated remote head key (IRHK), FCC OHT692427AA. SKIM 2 / SKREEM module.
  • WK2 (2011–2021) — Proximity smart key (FCC M3N-40821302 or IYZ-C01C) with push-button start. Requires Wireless Ignition Node (WIN) programming.
  • WL (2022–2026) — Latest 4-button proximity fob (FCC OHT-4882056) with Uconnect 5 and rolling codes. Dealer-grade tooling required — we have it.
  • SRT / Trackhawk / 4xe — Same WK2/WL key platform, but we'll verify VIN and trim before arrival because some 4xe builds need a CAN-bus refresh after programming.

What's Included in Mobile Jeep Grand Cherokee Key Replacement

  • VIN-verified key cutting on a Triton or Miracle code machine — no broken blanks, no sloppy fits.
  • Transponder / SKIM / SKREEM programming for WJ and WK using AutoProPAD or Autel IM608.
  • Proximity smart-key pairing for WK2 / WL through the OBD-II port, including all-keys-lost scenarios.
  • Remote start, lock/unlock, and panic button testing before we leave — every button on every key.
  • Broken-key extraction from the ignition cylinder or door lock at no extra charge when you replace the key with us.
  • Written warranty — 90 days on the key blank, 12 months on programming.

All-Keys-Lost Jeep Grand Cherokee — What Happens

Lost every Grand Cherokee key? Don't tow it. We come to you with the right blank, cut by code from your VIN, and put your SUV into security learn mode through the OBD-II port. Typical timeline:

  1. 10 min — Verify ownership (registration + photo ID), pull key code from VIN.
  2. 10 min — Cut the new blade or proximity blade to factory spec.
  3. 15–25 min — Program the transponder/proxy into the SKIM, SKREEM, or WIN module.
  4. 5 min — Functional test: start, lock, unlock, trunk/liftgate, panic, remote start (if equipped).

Total on-site time is usually 30–60 minutes. Your Grand Cherokee never leaves your driveway, garage, or parking lot.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can you really make a Jeep Grand Cherokee key on-site, or do I need to go to the dealer?

Yes — we cut and program Grand Cherokee keys (WJ, WK, WK2, and WL) on-site through the OBD-II port using dealer-grade tools (Autel IM608, AutoProPAD, Xhorse). No tow, no dealer wait. The only times we'd recommend the dealer are exotic factory-locked modules on a freshly imported SUV — and we'll tell you up-front on the phone if that's your case.

How long does Jeep Grand Cherokee key programming take?

From the moment we arrive: 30–60 minutes on-site for a standard all-keys-lost job (cut + program + test). Adding a spare when you already have a working key is usually 20–30 minutes. Our average dispatch time across Highlands Ranch is 15–25 minutes.

How much does it cost to replace a Jeep Grand Cherokee key in Highlands Ranch?

Indicative ranges: WJ (1999–2004) $159–$229, WK (2005–2010) $189–$269, WK2 (2011–2021) proximity $279–$399, WL (2022–2026) proximity $329–$459. Spare keys run $40–$80 less. Compared to Park Meadows-area Jeep dealers ($450–$700 + tow), we typically save $150–$300. Call (720) 299-9964 for an exact, written quote based on your VIN.

I lost every key to my 2018 Grand Cherokee. Can you still program a new proximity fob without an existing key?

Yes. All-keys-lost on the WK2 (2011–2021) and WL (2022–2026) platforms is a routine job for us — we put the Wireless Ignition Node (WIN) into security learn mode through OBD-II and pair a fresh fob using your VIN. We just need proof of ownership (registration + photo ID) before we start programming.

Will a new key affect my Uconnect, remote start, or auto-start subscription?

No. Programming a new physical key or proximity fob doesn't touch your Uconnect 4/5 account, SiriusXM Guardian, or Mopar Remote Start subscription. Those live in the head unit and the SiriusXM network, not the key. Remote start from the physical fob (double-press, then hold) will work as soon as we finish programming.

Do you make keys for Grand Cherokee SRT, Trackhawk, or 4xe models?

Yes. SRT and Trackhawk use the standard WK2 proximity platform. The 4xe (plug-in hybrid) uses the WL platform but occasionally needs a CAN-bus refresh after programming — included at no extra charge. Give us the VIN when you call and we'll confirm before dispatch.

What if my Grand Cherokee key broke inside the ignition or door lock?

We'll extract the broken blade on-site at no extra charge when you replace the key with us. If the ignition cylinder itself is worn or damaged, we can rebuild or replace it (see our ignition-repair page) and cut all new keys to the new cylinder during the same visit.
